ABOUT THE GAME
Somewhere between
2D and 3D.
Screenbound starts with a handheld found in your mom’s garage. Power it on and the world splits in two: a retro 2D game on the Qboy, and the 3D world around you, linked together. You control both versions of yourself at once.
Your moves carry across both worlds, but each one plays by its own rules. Some platforms, enemies and objects exist only on the Qboy. Others exist only in 3D. Puzzles take switching between the two, and sometimes fighting in both at once.
New abilities unlock as you go, opening up more of the game. The story hides in the places you explore, in pixel art on one side and a stylized 3D world on the other. The developers call it a quantum experiment. You are the variable.

The 2D game on the Qboy and the 3D world around you run together. Move in one and you move in the other.
SWITCH
Puzzles that cross the screen
What you can’t reach in 3D you might reach in 2D. Switch between the worlds at the right moment and the path opens.
LOOK CLOSER
Some things exist in only one world
A platform you can see on the Qboy may not be there in 3D. An enemy in the room may be missing from the screen. Pay attention to where you are.
GROW
New abilities, new answers
Abilities unlock as you go, and each one changes how the two worlds fit together. Old puzzles start to look different.
